Measurements of total reaction cross sections for 17Ne using a solid hydrogen target

Predicting total reaction cross sections for nucleon-nucleus scattering.

Nucleon total reaction and neutron total cross sections to 300 MeV for 12C and 208Pb, and for 65 MeV scattering spanning the mass range, are predicted using coordinate space optical potentials formed by full folding of effective nucleon-nucleon interactions with realistic nuclear ground state densities. Good to excellent agreement is found with existing data.

Photon Total Cross - sections

We discuss present predictions for the total γγ and γp cross-sections, highlighting why predictions differ. We present results from the Eikonal Minijet Model and improved predictions based on soft gluon resummation.

Cross sections for hard exclusive electroproduction of π + mesons on a hydrogen target

The exclusive electroproduction of π+ mesons was studied with the HERMES spectrometer at the DESY laboratory by scattering 27.6 GeV positron and electron beams off an internal hydrogen gas target. Models for Photon-photon Total Cross-Sections

We present here a brief overview of recent models describing the photon-photon cross-section into hadrons. We shall show in detail results from the eikonal minijet model, with and without soft gluon summation.
